Items for Sale
The raffle tickets for this year's quilt raffles are selling well. We have two quilts we are raffling this year. The large one was hand crafted by Elva Steen and is a full size cross patch pattern.

Tickets for it are three tickets for five dollars and six tickets for ten dollars. Elva Steen made last year's quilt for us also and it was enthusiastically received by the public selling many raffle tickets. This year's quilt by Elva also is exceptionally well done and raffle tickets once again are selling well for it.
A smaller quilt which was hand quilted by Sue Dillon is also being offered thanks to the generosity of Sue who also set up for us the magnificent display of miniature quilts in our eastern display room.

MEET THE QUILT MAKER
Born and raised in the Ulman area, Elva Boyd Steen, 83 years young, is a life-long Miller County resident. Married to Holmes Steen of rural Iberia at the age of sixteen, she became a turkey farmer's wife and together they raised 6 children.
Widowed in 1981, she continued the cow/calf operation on the family farm, as well as tending her garden, flowers, 17 grandchildren and now 30 great-grandchildren. Quilting has been Elva's love for the past 20 years.
The larger of the two log cabins on the grounds of the Miller County Historical Society was home to her parents, Willard and Maggie Boyd. They purchased the farm where the cabin was located in the mid-1940s and their grandson donated it to the museum.
